Geoff Thomsen Makes Sports Illustrated!!!

Well, sort of...

Geoff's picture of Javier Moreno losing his shoe made waves at the US OPEN, and those ripples hit the doors of the photo editor at Sports Illustrated.

The photo just missed out getting into the print edition of Sports Illustrated a few weeks ago, but they still liked it enough to run it online at
www.sikids.com.

Go and check out the photo and come up with a creative caption for it here:

Oregon's Little Leaguers Win With Racquetball

The hero of yesterday's thrilling victory for the Little Leaguers from Lake Oswego was Reid Penney with his solo home run. His father, Darin Penney, is an avid racquetball player in Oregon and credits the sport for part of Reid's success:

...In the stands, proud father Darin Penney couldn't help but think back to all the work that went into that moment. Darin Penney, an active racquetball player, taught his son the sport when he was 2 years old.

"Racquetball's one of those great sports that helps out with your lateral movement and your hand-eye coordination," Darin Penney said. "It's paid off."...

Ducks Capture Top Ten Finishes at USA Racquetball Intercollegiates

The 2007 USA Racquetball National Intercollegiates were held last weekend in Tempe, Arizona on the campus of Arizona State University.

Oregon State won this tournament in 2006 as an Overall Team, but the Beavers didn't make the trip this year due to some injuries.

But some Ducks spent their Spring Break indoors in the Arizona sun and represented the state with a trio of Top Ten finishes.

The University of Oregon Ducks finished 7th in the Overall Team competition and 8th in the Men's standings. The Women's Team -- with just three players -- finished 5th.

You can view the tournament's results
